Welcome to Reuma-Sol Centre!

Reuma-Sol is a Centre for treatment and training on the Costa Blanca coast in Spain, owned by the Norwegian Rheumatism Association.

The Centre consists of 44 apartments whereof 8 especially adjusted for disabled people. The Centre includes a large Health and Activity House with Gymnasium, Training Rooms, In and Outdoors Pools and a lot more.

At Reuma-Sol Centre, physical treatment will represent an important part of your stay. We offer you:

Hydrotherapy and Electrotherapy
The Centre employs English speaking physiotherapists and nurses, and our Reception is staffed by English speaking Health Care Personnel. We have an agreement with a doctor in case of emergencies.

At Reuma-Sol we offer you some kind of excursion every day. These vary from sightseeing tours to just going to the beach. You may however choose to discover the surroundings on your own, or simply relax in our Restaurant, enjoying a delicious meal.

Our wish is that what we offer you will give you energy and strength to bring back home to face every day life with in a colder climate.

Health/Activity House         
Consists of Gymnasium, hot in- and outdoors pools (34°C), and diverse rooms for treatment. Big room for occasions like, for instance, social getting together. Children and young people have a room of their own.

Treatment        
Our physiotherapists offer a wide range of treatment. Treatment consists of individual physical treatment and group treatment, also in pools.

Reuma-Sol and the Costa Blanca offer you an excellent climate throughout the year.

About one hour's drive will take you from Alicante Airport to Alfaz del Pi and Reuma-Sol. Heading north from the airport, you pass the cities Alicante, Villajoyosa and Benidorm. Sea, mountains and scenic beauty are what bring people here to live or spend their holidays.

The municipality of Alfaz del Pi has 14,000 inhabitants. 7,500 of these are foreigners from Norway, Holland, Germany and the United Kingdom, a total of 55 nationalities in an area of 19 square kilometres. Alfaz del Pi city and municipality intend to adjust the area for disabled people, and safety arrangements are well organised.

 Health / Activity House  
 
First floor:
The Health and Activity House has a Gymnasium, heated in- and outdoors pools (34°C) and diverse rooms for treatment. (During winter only indoor pool is used).

We have a small grocery shop. Opening hours are:
Every day between 10.00 – 12.00 and 16.00 – 18.00.

Reuma-Sol employs health care personnel like physiotherapists, a nurse and activity leaders. Nurse and leading physiotherapist have offices next to the Reception, which is open 24 hours.  

A "well-being centre", next to the Reception, offers you pedicure/chiropody and aroma therapy. Here you will also find our hairdresser (ladies and men). 

Children and young people have their own room in the house. Here you can play video games, send e-mails, surf on the Internet and several times per week watch video films.

Ground floor:
Here is where you find the Restaurant, indoor pool, dressing rooms and the Activity room, which is suitable for diverse occasions.

 Treatment   
 
Temperatures in our area vary from 16 to more than 30-35°C. The climate is dry and most suitable for people with rheumatism.

Suitable area conditions, highly motivated personnel and the Centre itself make Reuma-Sol the World's Best Place to be for people with rheumatism.

Our physiotherapists offer a wide range of treatment. It consists of:

Groups
Treatment takes place in the Health/Activity House. This is where you find the Gymnasium, hot in- and outdoors pools (34°C) and different rooms for treatment.

Together with a physiotherapist you figure out what kind of treatment program you should follow during your stay.

We focus on a safe stay for you at Reuma-Sol, and therefore, in addition to employing physiotherapists and a nurse, have an agreement with a doctor in case of emergencies. The Reception is open 24 hours in case you need any help.

On some occasions you may have the chance to see a rheumatologist during your stay at Reuma-Sol.

Next to the Reception, a "well-being centre" offers pedicure, massage, aroma therapy and a hairdresser (ladies and men).
